Visit Reykjavík – 2015
I´m employed as a website manager at Visit Reykjavík. My responsibilities include: designing, managing all programming needs and daily management of the website. My responsibilities also include: writing in English, translating into English, posting on social media and designing (advertisements, signs, booklets, flags and much more).

Web it , web design solutions – 2006 -09
I ran my own freelance business for three years. I designed and set up websites using Joomla and Cascading Style Sheets. I also did layout ads for magazines, Corporate Identity for businesses and E-mail advertisements.

IT Department, U.S. Naval Air Station – 1999-06
I was employed as a Webmaster and Graphic Designer for the U.S. Navy in Iceland. I managed and updated three of their major web sites and also designed booklets, signs, corporate identities and logos. I also photographed for the webs and took care of all their design needs.

Prentmyndastofan – 1998-99
I worked as an assistant for a small printing company in Iceland. I prepared adds for print and also printed photographs using a chromaline printing technique.

A twenty one hour Adobe InDesign class.

Stúdíó Sýrland – 2010
A forty hour class which covered all the basics in the production of a short film; from writing the script to the final production.

Impra, Innovation Center of Iceland – 2006
A three month course at the Service Center for Women Entrepreneurs in Iceland. The course was about how to run and manage your own business.

A twenty hour Adobe InDesign class.

AGI Graphics Institute, NYC – 2005
A four day class on how to use Adobe Acrobat Professional when creating electronic forms and applications.

Sissa Photography School – 2003
A three month course which covered all the basics in photography. How to use the camera, developing black and white photographs and how to use natural lighting. The course also covered how to photograph portrait, landscape, fashion, advertisement and artistic photographs.

Computer Skills

I have experience with the Mac and PC. I am experienced when it comes to writing CSS. Knowledge and experience when it comes to:  W3 web standards, Section 508 standards (Web accessibility standards) and website structure.

Photoshop, Illustrator, Freehand, Indesign and Acrobat Professional.

Web Programs
Drupal, Joomla, WordPress og Dreamweaver.

 

Languages

Icelandic is my native language. I lived in America for thirteen years, therefore I speak and write English correctly. I worked for the U.S. Navy for 7 years where all communication and writing was done in English.
